Chameleon Chairs® continues to aggressively pursue and stop the sale and distribution of counterfeit and inferior copies of its popular and patented Fanfare™ chair design. A federal court recently entered a judgment and order finding that four event planning and rental companies violated federal law by renting and offering unauthorized imitation Fanfare™ chairs. The United States District Court for the District of Maryland ruled that these event companies infringed Chameleon’s design patent and trademark/trade dress rights to the unique and popular design of its Fanfare chair. The federal court ordered these infringers to immediately stop advertising and offering these imitation chairs, to destroy imitation chairs and provide Chameleon with a certificate of destruction, remove all social media and other posts that show these chairs, and to pay damages to Chameleon.
Chameleon is pleased that the federal court recognized the strength and popularity of the Chameleon Fanfare chair design. Chameleon will not tolerate the purchase, sale, and rental of counterfeit chairs and any infringement of its patents, trademark, and trade dress rights in and to its chairs, including its Fanfare chair.
